Looking for a way to support your immune function? What about a healthy frozen treat you can create and personalize at home? Homemade frozen fruit pops are a great choice! They are easy to put together and satisfy just as much as a store-bought version. You can even personalize each recipe to your own flavor preferences and have fun creating new blends in your own kitchen!

Did you know our bodies actually prefer to get vitamins and minerals from whole foods rather than from supplements? Fruits are packed with nutrients that support our immune system like Vitamins A and C. Probiotics in yogurt help to maintain a healthy gut environment that also supports immune function. Got picky eaters at home that make it more challenging to eat what is needed to stay healthy? Combine yogurt and fruit in a delicious treat like Frozen Fruit Yogurt Pops! Here’s how to do it.

You will need:

  • Popsicle Molds (like these)

  • Fruit of choice (fresh or frozen)

  • Optional: Milk, Dairy Alternative, Yogurt

How to:

Blend together 1 cup frozen strawberries with 1/2 cup of plain yogurt and a splash of 100% orange juice to thin the consistency just enough so that it slides out of the blender when ready to pour. Carefully fill each of the popsicle molds with 3 oz of the mixture and fasten shut with the handle. Place on a flat surface in your freezer for 3-5 hours or overnight. When you remove the mold from the freezer, lightly run warm water over it before gently removing each popsicle. Then enjoy!

Get creative!

Try different fruit combinations like mango, watermelon, pineapple, blueberries, orange, and pomegranate. For non-dairy options, use unsweetened coconut, almond or oat milk alternatives. Poor in layers to create a fun pattern. Add a little granola or chopped nuts to the top (which will become the bottom) as a tasty finish. Blend in some purred carrots, baby spinach or cauliflower to sneak in extra veggies. The healthy possibilities are endless!

Don't have popsicle molds? You can create a similar effect using small paper cups, a muffin tin, shot glasses, or plastic cups with popsicle sticks inserted into the middle. Fill the cups up with your chosen pop mix, then place a sheet of cling wrap over the top and gently poke a hole through the wrap with the stick. Allow to freeze for a few hours, then wiggle the pop out of the cup or muffin tin and enjoy.
